~~Né en 1973 dans les pages de Charlie-Hebdo, le Beauf est au départ l'archétype du Français râleur, raciste, violent, odieux en toutes circonstances. Souvent confronté au Grand Duduche, l'autre personnage incontournable de l'univers de Cabu, il devient le héros récurrent des strips de Cabu dans Le Canard enchaîné et d'innombrables dessins. Inspiré d'un patron de bistrot de sa ville de Chalon-sur-Saône mais aussi de l'ancien maire de Nice, Jacques Médecin, le Beauf de Cabu est chasseur, pilier de bistrot, orateur de bar spécialiste du " yaka-faucon ", contremaître dans une usine d'armement, amateur de sport à la télé, obsédé sexuel, réactionnaire par nature... " J'ai réuni en un personnage tout ce qu'on pouvait imaginer de pire ", dit Cabu. Quarante ans après, le Beauf est devenu plus humain, perdu dans un monde de plus en plus complexe, pour lui qui ne cherche que des réponses simples : " Ce qui l'emmerde le plus, c'est qu'il a toujours du mal avec les filles. La plus conne sera toujours moins con qu'un beauf. " Le Beauf est toujours aussi horrible, mais on sent poindre une certaine tendresse de Cabu pour son odieux personnage... 300 pages réunissant strips, BD et dessins d'humour, ainsi que des crayonnés et beaucoup d'inédits !
